- Abstract
The aim of the research in this paper is presenting and considering of professional regulation in the area of enterprise valuation, representing ofprofessional associations as an institute of evaluation of profession at the international and regional level, as well and informing on current initiatives of financial regulators in developed market economies for reviewing of methodology and standards in order to provide to the users the additional results information on the reliability of those results and avoid their erroneous impressions on the accuracy of the valuation. On the other hand, the aim was to investigate the state of the evaluation of profession since the beginning of its evolution in the region and under the conditions of extremely poor theoretical and practical knowledge on the value of enterprise evaluation. The research was carried out by implementation of standard methodological procedure which used secondary source, that is, researching of domestic and foreign professional literature (books, articles, studies, reports of relevant institutions, etc.) and publications related to this issue. The methodology for systematization, reduction and classification of data was implemented to this data. The prepared data were representing the initial basis on which qualitative methods of analysis were implemented: observation methods, logical explanations, verification and critical analysis of theoretical and empirical research. Based on the results of the research, observed in the context of professional regulation, it may be noticed that international valuation standards have a certain level of generality and that they do not examine them in detail by different valuation techniques, but they still include the evaluation issues of all assets and sources of funds of an enterprise. On the other hand, there are initiatives to review the methodology and standard that are based on providing additional information that will enable the users of the enterprise valuation report to better overall risk perception and to gain more quality basis for making economic decisions. The growing requirements for the profession of valuers are related to the establishment of professional associations of valuers, which created certain assumptions for development and strengthening of this profession and the evaluation of value as the activity and profession. In connection with this, certain constraints of the evaluation profession have been identified and presented since the beginning of its inception in the region.
