- Title
Amateur imaging of Uranus.
- Authors
Arditti, David
- Abstract
The article features the study done by Willem Kivits and colleagues on Uranus. The apparition in 2006 was not good for observers from the northern hemisphere because it only attained an altitude of 30° from the Netherlands. When they used professional imaging with longer wavelengths at around 1600 nanometers, they detected a seasonal brightness at the south polar region. When a strong wavelet is applied to these images, Uranus tends to create a bright, sharp limb to the planet.
