- Title
Sheila Kitzinger's Letter From Europe: What Makes a Good Mother? Is That the Only Question?
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of a 63-year-old woman in the United Kingdom opting for in vitro fertilization. According to the author, women in the wealthy countries could make reproductive choices -- but only because poor women in other countries provide (the necessary) eggs. The article raises the issue of the need for international ethical guidelines and legal regulation of traffic in eggs.
