The article focuses on the ways in which adolescent writers took an invitation to write and share a piece of work not tied to a grade or the daily curriculum in school. In an effort to revise some of the typical approaches to teaching writing, students' responses were examined to identify role and significance of relationships in the practices related to teaching adolescent writers.
