- Abstract
7 Tesla MRI will soon be helpful to guide clinical practice in multiple sclerosis centres - Yes Over the past 10 years, 7 Tesla (7 T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has brought many advances in the in vivo exploration of the pathophysiological mechanisms of multiple sclerosis (MS). Indeed, at 7 T, the lesion detection sensitivity is increased by 52% compared to 3 T, and small lesions can be identified.[9] This is particularly relevant in early MS like clinically isolated syndrome when dissemination in space criteria are not fulfilled on brain MRI and 3 T spinal cord MRI.
