- Abstract
A scalp biopsy of this area revealed numerous mites in the follicular openings with minimal lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrates, and no signs of scarring alopecia were observed (Fig. Dear Editor, I Demodex folliculorum i is a frequent commensal mite with a controversial pathogenesis in some head and neck dermatoses.1 It has been implicated in multiple skin lesions varying from follicular scales to papulopustular or inflammatory lesions.1 Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) is a primary lymphocytic scarring alopecia with an uncertain pathogenesis.
