- Abstract
The article discusses a study of soluble and membrane proteins formerly bound to a functionalyzed lipid layer and transferred into two different substrates commonly used in atomic force microscoopy (AFM) namely the Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite (HOPG). It cites the use of freshly cleaved HOPG and the transfer of the material at the air/water interface done by direct contact of the hydrophobic and flat substrates with surface of Teflon wells. It suggests the use of HOPG as a substrate for the transfer and structural analysis of membrane proteins.
