- Abstract
The goal of the current study is to evaluate the Seasonal variation in physio-chemical properties Khudia Dam in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Analysis of the water was done from the perspective of monitoring water quality and to get up-to-date information on connected changes in the physico-chemical parameters in the habitat. The investigation was conducted over the course of a year (2019 to 2021). The following physico-chemical parameters were measured in three different seasons (monsoon, winter, and summer) in order to determine the water chemistry of Khudia dam: water temperature, pH, total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, BOD, COD, chloride, salinity, alkalinity, and hardness. Pre-monsoon water quality was found to be rather acceptable according to the data, while monsoon, post-monsoon, and pre-monsoon are the seasons with the highest pollution levels. Due mostly to the effects of the terrestrial runoff, the monsoon's water quality conditions were problematic. The water quality of this water body would be adversely impacted if the load of pollution and anthropogenic activity grows in the dams in the future, hence appropriate measures must be made to sustain and manage this ecosystem.
