- Abstract
The article discusses the use of transvaginal ultrasound in diagnosing and managing of pregnancy failure. It examines the efficacy of the said ultrasound in pregnancy ages less than seven weeks after the last normal menstruation (LNM). In this period, the findings of the first ultrasound is that of a thick echogenic endometrium measuring less than 20-millimeter at gestational age of four weeks after the LNM. It discusses the importance of the size of gestational sac. It also outlines the results of embryonal heart activity and embryonic size.
