- Abstract
As energy policy and economy in a globalized economy are paramount, it takes an analytic framework for correlating impact on market share of States, for different sources of energy, the impact of the policies and activities of these markets and economic development and national security of states. Oil is still by far the most important source of energy in the world economy, even if developed countries are working hard to increase the share of renewable in the economy, for natural and structural causes: imminent depletion of primary resources, high concentration of oil resources in certain regions of the world, economic social and political costs, associated with dependence on imported oil, oil price fluctuation, with significant impact on the general price level and hence on the welfare of the population.
