- Title
DEFENDING THE MIDDLE GROUND IN NARRATIVE THEORY AND THE SELF.
- Authors
LUMSDEN, DAVID
- Abstract
The author acknowledges the responses of authors James Phillips and Serife Tekin to his argument about the importance of narratives in the identification of one's self. He examines the contention of Tekin about his attempt to salvage the requirements of the narrative theory to achieve a personhood. He discusses his difference from the view of Phillips that life has an external narrative structure, in addition to his support of a philosophical principle.
