- Abstract
The article focuses on ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) frequently experienced by patients undergoing invasive mechanical ventilation. Topics discussed include the current recommendations for VAP prevention, the endotracheal tube (ETT) as a factor in the pathogenesis of VAP, and the results of a randomized controlled trial to assess the impact of the lateral Trendelenburg position (LTP) against semi-recumbent position (SRP) in VAP incidence.
