- Title
The Chosen: Defining American Judaism.
- Authors
McClymond, Kathryn
- Abstract
The author comments on the book "The Chosen," by Chaim Potok concerning the literature and life of American Jews. She stresses that the book has received various criticisms from other Jewish novelists on the author's approach in defining the American Jewish community and his biased perspective on traditional Judaism. The author argues that the development of arguments concerning Potok's work was brought on how Judaism was integrated with the American culture.
