- Abstract
The article focuses on the sighting of red imported fire ant (RIFA), at the Big Bend National Park in Brewster County, Texas. According to the authors, there were several reports concerning the subsequent spread of the species since it was first introduced in 1953 in the U.S. The first sighting of RIFA at the Big Bend National Park was first recorded by the United States Department of Agriculture and is believed to be a potential RIFA infestation area since it has a temperature of 12.3°C.
