- Abstract
In this paper we empirically test the relationships between sensation seeking, workaholism and serial entrepreneurship intentions. Absent considerations of gain or loss situational cues for prior venture performance, sensation seeking and workaholism traits have been conceptualized as being positively correlated to self-employment. Our findings are consistent in the context of serial entrepreneurship intentions. We next extend this conceptualization and test the moderating effects of success and failure feedback on the positive relationships between sensation seeking, workaholism and serial entrepreneurship intentions. Our findings suggest that sensation seeking and workaholism interact with prior venture performance to shape the intentions of experienced entrepreneurs to approach or avoid serial entrepreneurship.
