- Abstract
The article presents a study on bone phenotype of leptin receptor-deficient (db/db) mice and wild-type mice. It discusses details of the experimentation to analyze the microstructure of trabecular and cortical bones and determine the effects of leptin receptor deficiency on bone mass, bone mineral density and bone volume. It explores the significance of the research in the association of leptin with fat mass, bone mass and reduced fracture risk in humans.
