- Abstract
Introduction: Custodial deaths have occurred in institutions, prisons, detention camps and asylums. These deaths are of public interest, particularly to the family members and relatives. As a result, the case may undergo forensic investigation to determine the manner of death. Objective: To highlight an interesting case of blunt trauma in coronary artery anomaly and discuss the literature. Method: This case reported a teenage boy, who died of cardiac arrhythmia following a blow to the left chest. Result: Autopsy showed an absence of left circumflex artery. CKMB and Troponin-T were raised. The myocardium showed negative staining by nitroblue tetrazolium stain. Gross findings were further described in the discussion. Conclusion: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of a sudden cardiac death after a blow to the chest in a person with coronary artery anomaly.
