- Abstract
The article focuses on Supreme Court Justice Rufus W. Peckham in the U.S. It notes that the contended ruling to the popular Lochner v. New York case of 1905 is authored by Peckham. He is part of a prominent family of lawyers and judges in New York. He actively joins Democratic Party affairs and he was elected to the New York Court of Appeals in 1886 where he wrote 300 opinions for various law subjects.
