- Abstract
The article presents information on the Oregon Trail Memorial Association (OTMA) and discusses how the work of the OTMA has been taken up by the Oregon-California Trails Association. The association's goal was to make the public aware of the historic covered wagon trips that helped populate the western United States. The author discusses some of their early efforts to gather attention for the association and their work which included an annual trip along the trail to raise support. The author also discusses some of the group's early members that helped the association thrive including painter William H. Jackson, founder Ezra Meeker and author Howard R. Driggs.
