- Abstract
The article discusses the controversies in evolution and creationism, and public school science teachers and their students. It states that science teachers are responsible for helping students in understanding and dealing with controversies as part of science curriculum. It notes the resignation of Chris Comer, Director of Science Curriculum of Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the controversy she had. Several other cases where intelligent design is involved such as the 2004 Kitzmiller vs. Dover court case wherein Judge John E. Jones III conclusion that no one can explain intelligent design's connection with religious propositions is explored.
