- Abstract
The article provides a longitudinal study in order to examine the influence of shift work on hypercholesterolemia in Japan. Pooled logistic regression analyses were applied to 5510 male workers in a steel company. Four steps on the calculation of the effect of shift work on the onset of hypercholesterolemia were performed including calculation for age, body mass index, aspartic aminotransferase and BMI. It is concluded that shift work is a potential risk factor for hypercholesterolemia.
