- Abstract
The article examines the influence of Hungarian rabbi Leopold Löw's familiarity with the history and theology of Christianity and Judaism on his views on the Hungarian Jewish turbulene in the nineteenth century. It cites the role of the ethnic and religious heterogeneity of Hungary in the historical development of local Jewry and in the schism between Orthodox and Neolog Judaism. It also examines his Karaism advocacy.
