- Abstract
The article discusses efforts by the U.S. military, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to combat corruption in Afghanistan during the prosecution of the Afghan War against the terrorist organizations al-Qaeda and the Taliban, and amid rebuilding projects in the country. The article also examines the significance of the arrest and subsequent release of political aide Mohammed Zia Salehi and the failure of the Kabul Bank.
