The article discusses the case of a 40-year-old man who presented with slowly progressive slurring of speech and impairment of tongue mobility. The patient had dysarthria mainly for linguals based on neurological examination. It is suggested that schwannoma of the hypoglossal nerve can present with atrophy of the tongue.
