- Abstract
The article argues that the current legal framework for territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands is outdated and perpetuates inequality. The author proposes a new framework that recognizes the diversity of territories and offers practical solutions to improve the lives of those living in them. It mentions the Supreme Court decision in United States v. Vaello Madero case including, proposed framework which aims to move beyond the traditional State and Territory model.
