- Abstract
The article discusses the Texas Legislature's reaction to the environmental effects of petroleum production as of June 2012, focusing on several recommended changes to the duties of the state's Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), and the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC). The RRC's regulation of disclosures regarding hydraulic fracturing (fracking) fluids is also addressed, along with Texas' attempt to regulate hydrocarbon production.
