Woher kommen die Journalisten der Zukunft?
- Authors
Prummer, Karin
- Abstract
In her qualitative study the author analyzed in a first step, what kind of challenges young journalists have to meet. In a second step she conducted analyses of the curricula and finally interviewed persons responsible for the 14 programs in Bavaria to find out, if the young journalists get well prepared for the market. The results show, that the organizations are aware of the new challenges of the media market. The teaching in most programs is very practical, the students work in teams and learned multimedia journalism. But all organizations wonder, how to integrate Crossmedia- and Online-Journalism in the programs. The various new challenges lead to the problem, that there might be less time left for the training of the key competences writing and investigation, especially because the new bachelor programs take only six instead of nine semesters. The study was realized as a diploma thesis at the chair of journalism of the Catholic University of Eichstätt.
