The article offers poetry criticism of the text of the hymn "In The Glorious Epiphanie of Our Lord God" by Richard Crashaw. It examines the hymns's allusion to the figure of the Greek god Dionysius and addresses the significance of pseudo-Dionysius in English literature and culture of the 17th century. Topics discussed include epistemology, English traditions of order and ceremony, and negative theology.
