- Abstract
The article presents information on handcycling in several forms in addition to a Paralympic sport including recreation and clinical rehabilitation. It is known as a sport for both people with disabilities and able-bodied athletes. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) recognised it as a sport in 1999. The major races take place on road while some athletes also participate in downhill handbiking and ultra-endurance races. It can also be used as a mode of ambulation in everyday life.
