- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the books "Dyxcionary ffrynshe and englesshe &c," (1570-1571) by Lucas Harrison and "The Treasurie of the French Tong," by Cl. Hollyband, who was actually Claude deSainliens, and the idea that deSainliens was the author of both books. Scholar Gabriele Stein and her arguments that both books were written by deSainliens is discussed. Printer Robert Estienne and his "Dictionaire Francoislatin" (DFL) and "Les mots francois tournez en Latin, pour les enfans" (1544) are also discussed and compared to the "Dyxcionary" and the author believes that the wordlist in "Les mots" was used as the primary source for the "Dyxcionary."
