- Abstract
This article updates our knowledge of Raoul Tainguy, a copyist of the early 15th century with a readily slangy vocabulary. Today, he is credited with copying 14 manuscripts and one fragment. It seems that he did not work exclusively for the family of the chancellor of France, Arnaud de Corbie (+ 1414). His status raises questions. Was he a copyist-publisher, as suggested by his manuscript of the poems of Eustache Deschamps? Or was he a copyist-librarian, as suggested by the fact that he repeatedly copied different versions of the same text?
