- Abstract
This work refers to an investigation about the meaning of life in Nursing Professionals, meaning of their life, through a phenomenological and existential humanist approach in the light of Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy. These professionals facing the tragic triad may find themselves with job burnout imposed on their freedom of will for the meaning of life. This work sought to know the possible relationship between the meaning of life and the professional activity of nursing, analyzing the incidence of prolonged working hours and the maintenance of the will to meaning through the therapeutic logo tool. The Ontological Perception of Time scale developed by Aquino (2009) was administered within the framework of an interview, taking into consideration the Frankl model in 1989 and Lukas in 1990, the Meaning of Life Questionnaire and Informed Consent. Among the results of the analysis of the meaning of life of the nursing professionals participating in this research, an oscillating development was detected in relation to graduation time. Likewise, competences linked to the meaning of one’s own life and the life of others are also described. Future lines of research are proposed.
