- Abstract
The article cites a study conducted to analyze levels of pollution derived from the presence of persistent organochlorine pesticides (POPs) in coastal sediments of Petacalco Bay, Guerrero, Mexico. Results of the study revealed that assessment of the geographical distribution of POPs in the four studied subregions revealed no significant differences among them in any of the samplings. However, in particular, the subregion, Petacalco Town, depicted important differences between the dry and the rainy season, which was reflected in the total concentration of POPs and especially in that of heptachlor and endrin.
