- Abstract
The article presents a study on the concentrations of elements such as arsenic, cadmium, copper, chromium mercury and lead in the oyster Crassostrea angulata in the coast of Spain that may be hazardous to the health of consumers. Base from the study, the highest mean values of metals differ for each element because of the anthropogenic contribution from the activities of industries. Furthermore, it shows that the levels of metals in oysters are lower than the maximum values specified by the food standard regulations.
