- Abstract
The article presents a case study of trial of Joseph Hillstrom, a person executed by firing for his conviction of murdering of a local grocer John G. Morrison in Utah. It discusses life and character of Morrison supporting the reliability of his ante-mortem declarations. It presents an analysis of reliability and admissibility of Morrison's hearsay as the strong exculpatory evidence under Rule 807 of the Utah Rules of Evidence.
