- Abstract
This problem revolves around the fate of the soul after death and reckoning, as well as a search for its origin, nature, and its relationship to the body and other problems that the Greeks did not address directly, perhaps for fear of curse or considering research in it as a violation of the secrets of this mysterious world, and that for these matters and other circumstances that the Greek countries went through, it facilitated the emergence of secret religions as they considered them a lifeline from the frightening and unknown fate that the deceased would face after the separation of his soul from his body. This religion was preceded by many research attempts, but it was not enough to rid man of his misery and misery, so religious currents suggested formulas of immortality, and they were not secrets in the sense of being secret doctrines that receive revelation, but rather it is a means of salvation for people to escape from misery, and it is a ritual hidden through it, the person gets indoctrination and training, and the inability of man to accept the idea of death helped a lot in the emergence of the idea of souls, and they portrayed them in a material form that needs survival and permanence. Therefore, the phenomenon of offering sacrifices to the dead and building graves for them arose, and these and other ideas helped in the awareness of society at the time, And influencing philosophical thought directly or indirectly later on, most philosophers used legendary ideas to build their philosophical theories, whether they were criticism or influence.
