- Abstract
The article presents the views of Tadashi Nakamae, president of Nakamae International Economic Research, on the issue of inflation in the emerging market economies. Nakamae believes that the emerging markets are facing difficulties in choosing between gaining values on their currencies against the dollar or keeping their currency pegs to it. He adds that gaining values on their currencies is better than being pegged to the dollar. Furthermore, he cited the importance of the emerging markets to appreciate their currencies to prevent inflation.
