- Abstract
The article analyzes the results of diabetes screening campaigns carried out in Spanish community pharmacies since 2014. Findrisc questionnaires were used to assess the risk of diabetes in undiagnosed users over 18 years old. The results showed that approximately a quarter of the participants had a high or very high risk of developing diabetes and were referred to a doctor. The most prevalent risk factors were body mass index, high blood pressure, waist circumference, and family history of diabetes. It is concluded that it is necessary to improve interprofessional communication to obtain results from medical referrals.
