- Abstract
It is shown that the sensitivity of a conventional Hall effect magnetometer can be increased from ~2.5 × 10–7 to ~3.6 × 10–9 Т via generation of a sharp jump of the magnetic response in a sensor based on a YBa2Cu3O7– x epitaxial film aligned parallel to the surface of the Hall effect transducer at the first thermodynamic critical magnetic field Hic1 of twins using a decaying oscillating local magnetic field. The dynamic range of the magnetometer has been extended to the weak-field region (3.6 × 10–9 –102 Т) at the maintained accuracy and linearity (0.01%). To increase the linearity and noise immunity, the beginning of the magnetometer operating point has been shifted to Hic1 of twins. The spatial resolution of the Hall effect transducer has been increased over the entire magnetometer operating range via affecting the film by a decaying oscillating local magnetic field, independently of the obtained high sensitivity, accuracy, and linearity.
