- Abstract
The article discusses the national politics of Sweden in 2007. Following its election in 2006, the Alliance Government had a difficult first year in office, the article states. Reforms the government had promised to make were not well received by the public including a local property charge and increased taxes on profits on sales of property. Other topics include the precipitous drop in the government's popularity in 2007, the resignation of Defence Minister Mikael Odenberg on September 5, 2007, and stricter rules for sickness benefits.
