- Abstract
The article discusses semantic aspects of radio and song in the 20th and 21st centuries. The authors address the influence of the semantic habits of radio and song on human culture, beginning with developments in radio broadcasting technology during the years of the Great Depression, focusing particularly on the lyrics of popular songs from that era. Songs including "We're in the Money Now!," "Do Re Mi," and "We Sure Got Hard Times Now!" are examined for Diction analyses and Master Variables.
