- Abstract
The article examines the general semantics concept of time-binding through an exploration of the Lakota Indian Sun Dance tradition. The importance of the Sun Dance in Lakota religious tradition is discussed and its use as a spiritual teaching tool is examined. Particular focus is given to the role of the Sun Dance in passing ceremonial knowledge on to younger generations of Lakota.
