An essay is presented addressing a situation in which Christian women are married to non-Christian men, in relation to the biblical verse 1 Peter 3:1-2, which advises wives to submit to their husbands. The potential influence of wives over her husband's religious allegiance is highlighted by the author. Roman-period households, with respect to the interaction between religious practices and power, are analyzed.
