- Abstract
The article discusses the representation of the Reformation in the Catholic press in Germany in 1967, on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the publication of the Ninety-Five Theses of Protestant theologian Martin Luther. The author relates these representations to their authors' attitudes toward the Second Vatican Council of 1962-1965. Among other aspects, she particularly highlights reactions to a syndicated article by historian Hubert Jedin published in several diocesan newspapers, the use of images to illustrate Reformation-related content, and reassessments of anti-Catholic propaganda pamphlets from the sixteenth century.
