- Abstract
Physical exercises allied to ergonomic safe have been one of the main factors considered for good posture. Military Physical Training (TFM) results in an improvement of the cardiorespiratory resistance, muscular strength gains, and weight reduction. However, little has been investigated about the effect of TFM on the posture of recruits. The purpose of this study was to investigate the postural adaptations of young recruits undergoing physical training and the routine of mandatory military service over a year. Sixty-one healthy young men were assessed in January, June, and September. Anthropometry, photogrammetry and the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire were applied at the beginning and the end of the TFM period. Twenty-one anatomical points were analyzed according to the "Sapo protocol" in the anterior, posterior, and right body side views. The main results showed that changes in the postural symmetry of the recruits in the right lateral view were observed. The results show that TFM has substantial importance and positive changes in the body posture of the recruits over a year practicing daily physical exercises.
