- Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the scientific problem solving skills of primary students and also to examine their variations depending on the kind of the problem. For this purpose, the research was conducted with students from 7th and 8th grades of 3 primary schools of Buca district in Izmir and Kula district of Manisa who were selected through stratified sampling. In total 359 students were given Scientific Problem Solving Work Sheet. Primary students' problem solving skills were observed to be at middle and lower levels. Besides, the students were found to be more successful at solving problems were full support was given regarding the variables.
