- Abstract
The article discusses a study that investigated two different approaches to the creation of phosphorus-containing soybean-oil copolymers. It details the testing of two phosphorus-containing styrene (ST) derivatives as comonomers in cationic copolymerizaton of soybean oil (SOY), and the synthesis of a new reactive phosphorus-containing plant-oil derivative that was incorporated into SOY. An improvement in the fire-retardant properties of the SOY-based copolymers is presented.
