- Abstract
The article presents information on a study which reported the curing behavior of a phenolic resol resin in the presence of p-toluensulphonic acid. A review of the related literature is presented. Thermal scanning rheometry was used to determine the gel time of different systes. Varying amounts of fillers, talc and kaolin was added to modify the thermal and mechanical properties of the resin. The mechanical properties of the systems and the influence of the fillers were also determined.
