- Abstract
The article presents information on the impact of the conservatorship of government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on the commercial banks of the U.S. The Federal Housing Finance Agency placed the companies on coservatorship. Information on the recapitalization of the mortgage companies in the secondary mortgage market by the Department of Treasury of the U.S. and decided by the Federal Housing Finance Agency is also presented.
