- Abstract
The article discusses the history of laws related to space faring nations including the Outer Space Treaty of 1967. It also discusses history of kinetic anti-satellite (ASAT) weapons technology that is designed to destroy satellites for strategic military purposes. It presents information on the threats created by accumulation of space debris due to the use of ASAT technology and emphasized that the U.S. must develop a kinetic anti-satellite missile technology test-ban treaty.
